Where to Eat in Gandía and Miramar: Rice Dishes, Tapas, and More

If you’re wondering where to eat in Gandía, there are three surefire options: a rice dish or fideuà with a view of the sea, tapas in the city center, and a final stroll to help digest your meal.

Fideuà: Gandía’s Signature Dish

Gandía’s fideuà is the city’s culinary hallmark and boasts over 100 years of history. According to tradition, it was invented by chance by fishermen aboard the Santa Isabel: they ran out of rice and made it with noodles instead. Every year, Gandía hosts an international contest dedicated to this dish. If you only try one dish, make it this one.

With Ocean Views

  • Casa Manolo (Paseo Marítimo, Daimús): a family-run restaurant with ocean views that started out as a beach bar. It’s listed in the Michelin Guide and serves modernized traditional cuisine, with Gandía’s fideuà among its standout dishes. It’s located on the same stretch of coastline as Miramar. Reservations are recommended.
  • El Tardeo (El Grau): A pleasant terrace next to the marshland, with fideuà and burrata salad that are highly praised by customers.
  • Telero (Gandía): A family-run business with excellent reviews, with the mother in the kitchen and the son serving in the dining room.

Tapas in Downtown Gandía

On Thursday nights, there’s a tapas tour through downtown Gandía (Destapa’t), and on Fridays, there are two other tours through different neighborhoods. If you’d rather go on your own, the area around Plaza del Prado is a good place to start, with tapas, sandwiches, and deli meats at spots like Capricho del Prado.
