Gandia Beach Promenade

Calm waters, a boardwalk lined with terraces, wetlands, and mountains just minutes away: if you’re wondering what to do in Gandía and Miramar, the answer starts at the sea and continues inland. Here’s the guide we give our guests.

Miramar: Calm Waters and a Boardwalk with Terraces

Miramar Beach features fine golden sand and calm waters; it’s a Blue Flag-certified beach with lifeguards, showers, restrooms, parking, a sports area, and accessible entry. Right next to it is a boardwalk lined with terraces, ice cream shops, and restaurants, offering views of Montgó to the south and the port of Gandía and the Cullera lighthouse to the north. From our apartment with ocean views and our house—located just 100 m from the beach—you can walk there, and beach chairs and umbrellas are available for your use.

Gandía Beach: Boardwalk and Water Sports

About a 5-minute drive from downtown Gandía, this beach—which stretches over 3 km—features calm, shallow waters and a boardwalk lined with restaurants, beach bars, and water sports centers. It’s the perfect spot to try paddle surf: you can rent a board or sign up for a class at Gandia Surf (Calle Ribera Baixa), a school offering windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, and SUP, or check out the offerings at the Real Club Náutico de Gandía (Paseo de Neptuno). The season generally runs from April to October, and it’s best to go on a windless day.

Xeraco and l’Ahuir: More Space and Less Development

Xeraco Beach is long (about 2.6 km), with golden sand and a peaceful atmosphere, featuring umbrella and lounge chair rentals, restrooms, and a children’s play area. A little further south, at the northern tip of Gandía, lies l’Ahuir, an unspoiled beach about 2 km long with protected dunes and palm trees, accessible on foot via a boardwalk from Gandía or Xeraco. Keep in mind that this is an authorized naturist beach, so it may not be the best option if you’re traveling with children.

Nature Near the Coast

  • Alquería del Duc and its ullals: a fortified farmstead of medieval origin, the former summer residence of the Borja family, located next to lagoons where waterfowl can be seen. There is an interpretation center nearby, and it takes about 15 minutes to get there by car.
  • Marjal de Gandía: a protected wetland (Natura 2000 Network) featuring a loop trail between Senill and Borró, as well as longer trails of about 12–13 km, rated moderate in difficulty and taking about 3 hours to complete.
  • Mondúver and Serra Grossa: for those who want to hike uphill. An official hiking trail to Mondúver starts in Xeraco, and in the Gandía area, you can visit the Castell de Bairén.
