Where to Stay: Miramar or Gandia Beach
By Arnau Published
There are two ways to enjoy this coast: on Gandia’s big beach, or on smaller Miramar, a few minutes away. If you’re wondering where to stay in Gandia, this comparison will help you decide.
Gandia Beach: energy and services
This is the big beach: almost 3 km long, with a Blue Flag, a promenade, restaurants, beach bars and watersports centres. In summer there are bars and nightclubs, and the city multiplies its population. It is about 3 km from the historic centre, home to the Borja family’s Ducal Palace.
Miramar: calm and close
Miramar is smaller and more relaxed. Its fine golden sand, calm water and a promenade with terraces, ice-cream shops and restaurants make it ideal for families and couples. Gandia’s centre is about 5 minutes away by car.
Getting around
The nearest Cercanías station to Miramar is Gandia (there is another at Platja i Grau de Gandia), with about 60 minutes’ travel to Valencia. Miramar has no station, so a car gives you a lot of freedom.
